Upcoming Riding Events

May 4 – Blessing of the Bikes. Victoria Park, Truro. This is the season opener for all the good stuff that is to come. You might as well start out on the right foot. No matter your belief having someone bless your ride can’t be a bad thing. Posting this makes the season very real. Last year we weren’t able to attend as it was a week away from opening, but this year we can’t wait to attend.

May 18 – The first official event at BAD Dog of the year. Biker’s Against Child Abuse (BACA) is hosting their annual 100 mile run. Kickstands are up at noon. Cost for registration is $20.00 with all proceeds going to the amazing work this group does to protect children in our community. The ride will be returning here to live music with Rob Francis and lots of fun. More details coming soon.

May 25 – HFX Tire & Oil Charity Motorcycle show. This show came out of no where last year and has expanded to fit the demand. Taking place at the Spryfield Shopping Center from noon till 4pm, you can expect lots of bikes and vendors. BAD Dog will be on site. All proceeds go to Big Brothers Big Sisters. May 25 – S.H.A.I.D. Fundraiser Motorcycle Run. This annual event raising money for Sheltering Helpless Animals in Distress leaves Three Churches in Mahone Bay at 1:00pm. Gift card donations will be accepted at the end point of the run which is the SHAID shelter. For details contact Andrew @ 902-527-8701

June 1 – Although not a Nova Scotia event, if you want a nice ride to see some amazing bikes add this to the calendar. You’ve seen the work of the guys Hard Way Cycles at the rallies so you know what your walking into. A great bunch of guys with a passion like few others. Their Show & Shine in Fredericton, NB goes from 10am to 4pm. Click here for details.

June 6 – The first Bikers Down BBQ of the year in Sackville. A Thursday night staple in the HRM riding community. Let’s make the first one a big one. I promise you’ll be back for more. Add it to this ever growing calendar. Find the details at Bikers Down on Facebook.

June 15 – The Veterans UN-NATO is once again hosting the Red Ride in support of those providing us military support across all branches. The ride takes place at the Endfield Big Stop with registration from 11am to 12:45pm by donation. Kickstands go up at 1pm heading for the Eastern Passage Legion. This is an incredible tribute to our troops that is an annual tradition in HRM.

June 16 – Biker’s Down Society –  Angel Memorial Ride meeting at O’Connell’s Recycling 15 Sackville Crossroad in Lower Sackville Visit their website for full details. Rain date June 23rd

June 22 – 23 – Devil’s Half Acre in Kentville. The fastest growing motorcycle rally in Nova Scotia. BAD Dog is very pleased to be hosting the Show & Shine. We will have some great prizes and plaques for everything from the best paint to the ugly duckling. We can’t wait. See you soon Kentville, this will be one of the highlights of our riding year. July 4 – 6 – East Coast Indian Riders Group Celebration. It takes place in Baddeck this year. You can book your tickets here. BAD Dog is proud to be part of this event and is offering exclusive clothing found by clicking the banner above.

July 7 – Sponsored by Cracked Armour we have another amazing ride to announce. Salute the Saviours meets at Downsview Plaza in Sackville at 10:30 am. From the organizers: This is our second annual charity motorcycle ride! Ride by donation, or ride for free! All funds raised by sponsors and collected donations will be donated to the RETURNING WARRIORS RANCH in Hantsport, NS. Our goal is to raise $5000 to help with the development of the ranch.  You can find the group on Facebook.

July 14 – Pam Vickey/Mike “Toad” Roach Memorial Poker Run – A great event honoring two people gone too soon but synonymous with the motorcycle community. BBQ to follow. Rain date July 21. Find the details at here.

July 19 – 21 – Bordertown Biker Bash takes place once again in Amherst NS. There’s a good chance you will see us there. This rally takes place in loving memory of local biker/Defender Randy Thurber who was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident in 2019. As someone (Bill) born in neighboring Springhill, we’re excited to take part this year. Add it to the calendar friends and lets go party in Amherst.

August 2 – 4 – Once again the 74th Crusaders out of Annapolis Royal celebrate the Riverside Rally. This year is number 45 and the 50th anniversary of this incredible organization. The event has camping, music, food, fireworks, and a lot of biking fun. If you want an oldschool community biker experience drop by and see our friends in Annapolis Royal. You can find details here.

August 10 – The very popular demo rides are coming back to our friends at Privateers Harley-Davidson. This is your chance to test out your dream bike. Should be a great day in the biking world. Who doesn’t like driving a new Harley.

August 9 – 11 – Route 16 Thunder Rally in Canso. This annual tradition is a community rally featuring entertainment, biker games, and lots of food. Combine this with the beautiful runs in Cape Breton and you have an amazing event. Thunder Rally has continued to grow year after year. Find the details here.

August 10 – 11 – The annual tradition continues with Bikers Down Toadstock in River John. We hit this up for the first time last year and had a blast. Onsite camping, biker games, good food, and lots of future stories. If you want an oldschool rally that is motorcycle focused we will see you at Toadstock. Details can be found here.

August 17 – Highway of Heroes 7th Annual Tribute Run. Departs Value Village Dartmouth heading to the Power Center in Truro. Route is HWY 111 to 118 to 102. Kickstands up at noon. This is one of the largest runs of the year. We will be in attendance sweeping for the run. Join the Facebook group here.

August 18 –  BDS IWK Toy Run In collaboration with the IWK, BAD Dog Cycles and all our amazing supporters, we get to do our toy run again this year. Rain date August 25. This will start and end at BAD Dog so more details on this new annual tradition for us will be coming soon.

August 29 – September 1 – Sou’West Iron & Ink Motorcycle Rally taking place in conjuction with Wharf Rat Rally in Digby. BAD Dog will be onsite as vendors and we are very pleased to be the host of the burnout competition. This event is a true bike rally with some incredible events. September 14 – T1D Ride For The Cure. A ride to cure Type 1 diabetes. This is the 10th anniversary addition of this amazing ride. Taking place at 3772 Scotsburn Rd/Rt 256, Pictou County this well attended run near the end of rally season always sees a great turn out. Registration fee is $20.00 per bike with proceeds going to the cause. Registration starts at 10:30am with kick stands up at noon.

September 15 – Our Annual Destiny’s ride. One of our favorites. Recipient TBA. Rain date Sept. 22nd. Details on this very special event will be coming soon. This ride is an example of the biking community at its best.

November 24  – Biker Bird Bingo Our Annual Biker Bird Bingo at the Buffalo Club in Eastern Passage, win yourself a bird, ham or other great prizes. Details can be found for this incredibe event on the BDS website as they become available.
